Lessig has authored several books and has written many blog posts on this issue. He has also made many presentations of which many of those are available on the web to view/download. I hope you will take the time (regardless of what you think of Obama) to inquire. As a member of the Free Culture Movement, I can tell you that we do not seek the abolition of IP rights; we merely seek to repair them in significant ways (such as by shortening the length of copyright--lifetime protection PLUS an additional seventy years after you die is ridiculous). Furthermore, Prof. Lessig has repeatedly said that he does not support the abolition of copyright.
